.EXPRESS currently has two applicants – Donuts and Express. If Express becomes the registry, .EXPRESS will operate as a restricted brand TLD meant to promote the Express trademark, and used exclusively for the employees, affiliates, and customers of Express. If Donuts becomes the registry, .EXPRESS will have unlimited registration, meaning any individual, group, or business may register a .EXPRESS domain for any purpose, and .EXPRESS will be treated a generic term TLD, meant to be defined through use.
